Sometimes you can understand what happened—and still feel stuck in the same nervous system responses: tension, emotional reactivity, shutdown, panic, or a body that won't "let it go." If talk therapy hasn't fully reached what you're carrying, Brainspotting can be a powerful, body-based approach to help your brain and body process at a deeper level.

Brainspotting is a trauma-informed therapy approach that uses your line of sight—where your eyes naturally want to focus—to help access and process experiences stored in deeper, nonverbal parts of the brain and body. In a Brainspotting session, your therapist helps you find a specific "brainspot": a visual position connected to emotional or physical activation, then supports you in staying gently present while your nervous system processes.
For many clients, Brainspotting feels different than traditional talk therapy. It can be less about "figuring it out" and more about noticing, processing, and integrating—with fewer words required.
At Layers, Brainspotting is never "done to you." It's a collaborative process grounded in safety, consent, and pacing. We use Brainspotting as part of a thoughtful plan—often integrating it with evidence-based approaches and skills-based work—so you're not only processing, you're also building tools for everyday life.
You can expect a paced approach (no rushing, no forcing), clear goals and a plan you understand, grounding and nervous-system regulation tools, and practical strategies you can use between sessions.

Brainspotting can support many ages and life stages, and we tailor therapy to your needs, history, and readiness.
You don't have to "power through" your symptoms alone. Therapy can help you feel more grounded, more present, and more like yourself again.
Why Choose Our Plano Practice?

When you're considering Brainspotting, the provider matters. Your therapist's training, pacing, and clinical judgment are a huge part of whether this feels safe and effective.
