Struggling with OCD, anxiety, ARFID, or trauma can feel isolating, especially if therapy hasn’t helped before. At Layers Counseling Specialists in Plano, every therapist specializes, so you’ll work with someone who understands what you’re going through and knows how to help.
Each of our therapists trains deeply in a few areas, so you won’t have to explain what you’re going through from scratch.
No two people are alike. Your plan is built around what you want to change, whether that’s panic, intrusive thoughts, or fear around food.
We use approaches with strong research behind them, in a warm space where you won’t be judged.

I started Layers after living with OCD for more than a decade and never finding the right kind of therapy. So I built the practice I wish I’d had, where people living with OCD, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, autism, or eating disorders can find a therapist who specializes in exactly what they’re facing and truly understands them.

Getting started
Knowing what's coming makes reaching out a little easier. You don't need the right words or a tidy explanation of what's wrong. You just need to show up. We'll take it from there.

Free consult
15 minutes · video
A free video call with the clinician you want to work with, not a sales rep or a call center. For a child, this call is usually with you, the parent or caregiver. It's a chance to:
Share a little about what’s bringing you or your child in
Get a feel for the therapist and how they work
Ask anything about approach, scheduling, or fees
Decide together whether it feels like the right fit

First session
About 50 minutes
Your first session is mostly about getting to know you. Like every session after it, it runs about 50 minutes. You set the pace, and there’s nothing to prepare beyond a little paperwork:
Intake forms arrive through our secure client portal; please complete them at least 24 hours before
We talk through what brought you in, a bit of your history, and what you'd like to feel different
For younger children, this session usually includes time with you, the caregiver
Fees and insuranceGet to know the therapists who are here to help you on your mental health journey.
