Hi, I’m Karla. I know OCD and anxiety from the inside.
If you’re exhausted by intrusive thoughts, rituals that feel impossible to stop, or anxiety that runs your day, I want you to know that what you’re feeling makes sense, and recovery is possible.
I’ve been there. After years of struggling with OCD and social anxiety, I finally found relief through exposure and response prevention (ERP). That experience is why I became a therapist, and why I started Layers.
I work with adults who feel stuck in endless what-if thoughts and compulsions, who are tired of avoiding life because of anxiety, and who are ready to face their fears with someone who won’t push too fast.

I use exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, shaped around you. For mental compulsions I draw on rumination-focused ERP and metacognitive approaches. For trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), I use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
Our work usually follows a clear path. First, we make sense of your symptoms together. Then you learn practical tools to face your fears at your own pace. Finally, we focus on keeping your progress long after therapy ends.
Therapy with me is structured but flexible. We move as quickly as you’re ready and never faster. You’ll leave sessions with something real to practice, and many clients tell me it’s the first time they’ve felt truly understood.

Clients tell me they appreciate that I’ve been there but won’t let them stay stuck. You’ll never have to explain why your thoughts feel “weird.” My style is warm and direct, with plain talk instead of clinical jargon.
