Overview
Anxiety can make everyday things feel much harder than they should. Maybe your mind won’t stop running through what-ifs, your body sounds the alarm out of nowhere, or you’ve started skipping things you used to enjoy. If that sounds familiar, we can help.
At Layers Counseling Specialists in Plano, we help children, teens, and adults with anxiety using approaches that research shows work. We see clients at our Plano office and online anywhere in Texas.

Everyone feels anxious sometimes. Anxiety becomes a disorder when it’s bigger than the situation calls for, sticks around, and starts shaping your choices. You might notice stomachaches before school or work, trouble sleeping, a mind that won’t slow down, or a growing list of things you avoid.
Avoidance is the part that keeps anxiety going. Every time we skip the thing we fear, we feel relief, and our brain learns the danger was real. Treatment gently reverses that, so you can do the things that matter to you again.
Anxiety disorders are among the most treatable mental health conditions. With the right approach, many people feel meaningfully better.
We match the approach to you and to the kind of anxiety you’re dealing with.
For children, parents are part of the plan. You’ll learn what to say and do when anxiety shows up, so progress in session carries over at home.
