Houston is huge, and so are its waitlists for specialized care. Finding a therapist with real training in OCD, ARFID, or autism-related anxiety, with an opening this month, can feel impossible. With Layers Counseling Specialists, you meet by secure video with a therapist who specializes in what you’re going through: OCD, anxiety and panic, ADHD, autism, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), or trauma. We work with children, teens, and adults across Houston, in English or Spanish, and skip the drive across town entirely.
We specialize in OCD (including ERP and I-CBT), anxiety disorders, ADHD, autism, ARFID, eating disorders, and trauma, working with children as young as 3, teens, and adults.

Sessions happen by secure, private video from home, work, or anywhere private in Texas, from The Heights and Katy to Pearland, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands. All you need is a private space and an internet connection, and a phone or tablet works fine. No traffic, no parking, no waiting room.
Online therapy fits around long commutes, hospital shifts in the Medical Center, and busy family calendars, and we offer evening appointments. Students at Rice, the University of Houston, and other schools can meet between classes. For parents of a child who won’t come to therapy, our parent-based program, SPACE, works entirely through you.

For most people, yes. Research shows online treatment for OCD and anxiety, including exposure and response prevention (ERP), works about as well as meeting in person.
Yes. We offer therapy in English or Spanish by secure video, including ERP for OCD and anxiety.
Yes. Our therapists adapt their approach for video, and parents stay closely involved. If your child won’t take part, SPACE works entirely through you.
We’re a private-pay practice. Because we don’t bill insurance, nothing goes on file with your insurance company unless you choose to submit a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. We accept HSA and FSA cards and offer two fee levels: our specialists and our focused clinicians, who are supervised by specialists and cost less. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available too.
Book a free 15-minute video consult online, or call or text 214.444.8079. You’ll talk with the clinician you’d like to work with, and if it feels right, we’ll find a first appointment that fits your week.
